One Year Objectives

  1. Plan and advertise well in advance the need for a new parish representative to the Regina School Board.
  2. Plan, implement and evaluate new Bible study program for interested parishioners - both adult and youth.
  3. Explore the feasibility and appropriateness of sacramental preparation for homeschoolers.
  4. Explore the possibility of changing parish bulletin to include educational topics and contacts for church functions on front of bulletin.
  5. Promote natural family planning education into appropriate parish program(s), i.e. marriage preparation.
  6. Ensure that Eucharist and Confirmation programs are adequately staffed and interesting for both leaders and participants.
  7. Explore the role of Parish Liaison to Regina School Board and ensure that information gathered is appropriately distributed to parish groups.
  8. Assess the current status of parish Bible study programs and decide if they are serving the parish needs.
  9. Continue to develop parish youth program emphasizing service activities.
  10. Explore the feasibility of preschool program on Sunday mornings.

Three Year Plan

  1. Evaluate the current status of youth ministry programs at St. Wenceslaus. Implement two new programs to serve the parish youth.
  2. Implement Life Teen nights at St. Wenceslaus along with Masses.
  3. Enlarge parish youth program to include other citywide youth.
  4. Explore methods to include teen-age persons in potential Sunday morning Pre School.
  5. Explore development of a college scholarship program for parish youth.

Five Year Plan

  1. Explore the feasibility of establishing, a rotating format (among vicariate parishes) for Vacation Bible School.
  2. Invite several non-Catholic ministers to participate in Vacation Bible School.
  3. Establish a study group to learn about other community religions. Include outside speakers in this program.
  4. Develop a program for Education Commission adults to visit other parishes (Iowa City) to learn about their adult and youth education programs.
  5. Seek an interested parishioner to become a (volunteer) education program coordinator for St. Wenceslaus.
  6. Establish a vocation sub-commission of the Education Commission that addresses recruiting appropriate parishioners to religious vocations.
  7. Develop a 'religious life' sub committee that would gather and make available information on religious life for all ages.
